International Museum Day at the Museum of Typography 20/5/2017

The worldwide community of museums (ICOM) will celebrate International Museum Day on and around 18 May 2017. The theme chosen for 2017 is "Museums and contested histories: Saying the unspeakable in museums".

The Museum of Typography participates in the celebration of the International Museum Day, hosting a discussion about the Refugee issue. The event, to be held at 11 am on the morning of 20 May 2017, will include schools and students with social and refugee awareness, as well as organizations from social solidarity structures of Chania such as the “Social Pharmacy”, the “Social haunt for Immigrants, but also the rewarded for her rescue work in the greek islands, lifeguard Mania Bikov - responsible for Lifeguard Hellas - Hellenic Center for Education.

The following Secondary Education Schools will present their actions: 2nd High School of Chania, Souda Lyceum, Vamos High School.

Souda High School and Vamos High School will also participate in the discussion.
* The Museum of Typography celebrates the International Museum Day and will be open on Thursday 18 May 2017 10:00 - 16:00 with free admission to the public.
